HAUL: FROM MY LOVELY MAKEUP PENPAL

_IGP9849

So, I made a friend that lives across the country from me. We both share the love for makeup, and I absolutely adore her! Recently she suggested to send a spare product to me, and I got really excited. I was planning on asking for her address around Christmas time so that I could send her something special, but instead, we totally became makeup penpals. Our skin (and taste in lip products) are on opposite ends of the spectrum, so we both have ended up with products that we just don’t or won’t use (or have extra of).

I am leaving for Washington State tomorrow for a little over a week (expect a lack of posts, I’m sorry!), but her package to me came a day early! It was supposed to arrive right after Todd and I hit the road. It was definitely a pleasant surprise!

If you don’t follow Bronze and Blush already, then give it a go right now! She posts pretty much daily, and I love reading every one of them! My little care package will make it out to her once I make it back from Washington :).

She packed it all in one of her ipsy bags, and I am really excited because I needed a small bag for my purse!

_IGP9852
Well, isn’t this photo wonderfully out of focus? I took a break from packing to post, so sorry for the lack of photos! I will review all of these products (along with many others I have recently started using) soon!

  • Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base

This little sample is just SO CUTE! I am about to go to Etude’s website and die       from a cuteness overload. The packaging says that it’s a “light and fluffy” moisturizing makeup base with SPF 25. I’m excited to try it!

  • Chella Hello Beautiful Eyes Indigo Blue Eyeliner Pen

I think she got this in an ipsy bag, but I’m not completely sure. Colored eyeliner is right up my alley, and I don’t have a darker, indigo blue. I think this will be great for daily use! I love my stila felt tip eyeliner, so if this one doesn’t smudge, I’ll love it too!

  • Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer

This concealer leaned a bit too yellow for me, but I decided to try it anyway. I ended up layering my current concealer over it, and I was impressed! Yay!

  • Milani Lipliner in Cherry Pie

I must confess, this is my first Milani product. I really want to pick up some baked blushes sooner or later. I already own two red lipliners, but I think that you can never own too many red lip products! I am excited to try this.

  • Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Electric Orange

I am the bright lip queen! I have been itching for an orange lipstick, and this lovely lady answered my prayers. I haven’t tried it yet, but it smells nice. My first red lipstick was from Maybelline, and I liked it!

  • Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape

I actually already own this exact lipstick LOL! I will be gifting this one to my mom because I know that she’ll like the shade as much as I do. It’s a nice deep purple. Toni thought I would like this, and I do haha!

  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

So, this was the product that she had a spare of. I LOVE IT SO MUCH, IT’S ALREADY ALL OVER MY FACE!!! This is a great highlighter and eyeshadow. It’s gold tinted, perfect for summer, It is my first product from theBalm, and it will definitely not be the last.

Thank you so much Bronze and Blush! I am so excited to use everything you sent!

OOTD/FOTD Vegas Edition

Why hello ladies and gentleman!

I had a nice time in Las Vegas over the weekend. If you read my last post then you know that my reason for being in “Sin City” was for an European Car Festival (Wuste).

It was was definitely hot and the wind was crazy, but I had a nice time seeing people that I don’t get to see very often! I also met a bunch of awesome people as well. My boyfriend, Todd, and I always enjoy going to these events together. Our friend also drove down from Sacramento, so it was awesome to see him as well!

Let’s jump to the things that you guys care about!

L1050612

This was my outfit for main day of the festival, Saturday. I wanted my skirt to be tight fitting because of how windy it was!!

  • Blouse: H&M (Gift from the lovely Todd)
  • Belt: Forever 21
  • Skirt: Forever 21
  • Wedges: Urban Outfitters

I wanted to keep it simple, and I actually got a lot of compliments from random people! Yay!

Now, my makeup:

L1050615L1050617

I decided to skip the BB cream so that I could reapply my sunscreen as needed. I learned that matte lip products are not the best things for 20+ mph winds, but I managed! Ok, it was so windy that I thought that my false eyelashes were going to just fly right off of my face! They lasted throughout the day though! It was my first time wearing them in public, and I felt fabulous. I ended up cutting my Callas lashes and only putting them on the outer corner of my eye. They were a lot easier to apply that way (great for beginners like me!).

  • Elta MD facial sunscreen, SPF 40
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush, Tipsy
  • Too Faced Snow Bunny
  • Too Faced Primed and Poreless (setting powder)
  • Covergirl Clean Concealer
  • Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
  • ELF Brow Kit (Mixed with NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean)
  • Callas Lashes (cut)
  • Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner Pencil (tight line)
  • Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara
  • UD Naked 3 (Limit, Burnout, Nooner, Darkside, Blackheart, & Strange)
  • Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso

I wanted to do big, dramatic wings, but my eyes were so irritated from the hot wind. I decided to keep it simple this weekend!

Here is the man behind the camera; the man who stole my heart! I had a great time with him, and he always spoils me to pieces!

Product list for this photo (taken Friday):

  • Elta MD Facial Sunscreen, SPF 40
  • Clinique Cheek Pop in Peach Pop
  • Too Faced Snow Bunny
  • Too Faced Primed and Poreless (setting powder)
  • ELF Brow Kit (Mixed with NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean)
  • Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
  • UD Naked 3 (Limit, Nooner, Factory, Darkside, Strange)
  • Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner Pencil (Tight Line)
  • Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara
  • NYX soft matte lip cream in San Paulo

I hope you enjoyed the read! If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Packing For a Weekend Getaway!

I am so excited because I am going to Vegas this weekend! We are leaving tomorrow for Wuste, an European car festival. Todd and I went to Wuste two years ago, and it has been one of my favorite car events to date.

We will be spending three days and two nights there, and I know that I over pack, but I wanted to share what I would typically bring with me when I change climates for the weekend! We will be going to Seattle, Washington for a little over a week next month, so I will definitely be revisiting this type of post then!

Onto the goods! Let’s start with eye makeup

Vegas-1

  1. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I limited myself to one eyeshadow palette since I knew that we would be gone for only a few days. I use this the most, and I can create an array of wonderful looks.
  2. ELF Eyebrow Kit: My tried and true $3 brow product! I just made a video tutorial on how I do my brows, you can check it out here.
  3. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner Pen: I love this baby. The wings I can make with this liner makes me feel fabulous!
  4. Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner Crayon: I got this as a sample from ULTA, and I haven’t used it yet. It’s the perfect size for traveling, and I wanted something quick for tight lining my upper lash line.
  5. Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance: I love this eyeshadow primer. It has lasted me years, and it is still going strong.
  6. Smashbox Eye Brightening Mascara: I love how small the brush is on this. It is great for my lower lash line.
  7. Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara: I really love this mascara, and pairing these two together has really been a winning combo for me.
  8. Callas Eyelashes #507: I’m going to Vegas! I have to break out some false lashes!
  9. DUO Eyelash Adhesive: Tried and true; it’s the only lash glue I trust!

Now, Face products:

Vegas-2

  1. Too Faced Snow Bunny Bronzer: I use this everyday; I love it so much.
  2. Too Faced Primed and Poreless: It is going to be HOT! I need a good setting powder with me.
  3. Covergirl Clean Concealer: I use this for dark circles.
  4. Covergirl BB cream: This is the only BB cream I have used, but I like it. I don’t own any foundation, but it would be too hot for it anyway.
  5. Elta MD Facial Sunscreen, SPF 40: I love this sunscreen. Todd’s grandmother bought it for me, and I have been cherishing it ever since.
  6. ELF Mineral Face Primer: I don’t always use primer here in sunny Southern California, but I know that I will need it in Vegas.
  7. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush in Tipsy: I limited myself to one blush this weekend. This one is my favorite, and coral is perfect for summer!

Lips:

Vegas-3

I forced myself to be limited to two colors, a gloss, and a balm. This was very hard for me. I am the type of person who will bring every lip product I own… I had a lip balm melt last time, so I am taking a balm that I don’t care for, and all of the other lip products are cream/gloss.

  1. Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Midnight Cowboy: I am not really a gloss person, but I like this one. I don’t know if I will even use it, but I like having the option.
  2. NYX soft matte lip cream in San Paulo: I just bought this, and I think that I would cry if I didn’t bring it along with me! It’s great for the daytime.
  3. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso: This is my holy grail red lippie. I plan on switching over to red every night! This will last through a few margaritas. 🙂
  4. Maybelline Baby Lips in Grapevine: I wouldn’t be sad if this melted, and I have misplaced my Burt’s Bees!

Tools:

Vegas-4

  1. Sephora Mirror: For touching up my lips!
  2. Tweezers/Scissors: I might need a brow lift by Sunday morning.
  3. Eyelash Curler: Pretty self explanatory. (:
  4. Pencil Sharpener: I don’t think I will need it, but, you know, just in case!
  5. Hair pin: Keep those bangs at bay while I apply my makeup!
  6. Real Techniques Lip Brush: I use this for my Stila lipstick.
  7. Ecotools Eyeliner brush: For my brows.
  8. Ecotools Eyebrow/Mascara Brush: For combing my lashes!
  9. 3 Ecotools Eyeshadow Brushes: I have a double endeed brush in my Naked 3 as well. I like having a good amount of eye brushes no matter where I am.
  10. Ecotools Concealer Brush: I don’t feel line bringing my beauty blender for my concealer, but this will do.
  11. Ecotools Blush Brush: I use this for my finishing powder.
  12. Ecotools Fan Brush: For my blush & bronzer… I need a spare fan brush!

Other Toiletries:

Vegas-5

  1. Oxyfresh Fluoride Toothpaste: Expensive, but worth it!
  2. Toothbrush: I usually use electric, but I don’t like traveling with it.
  3. Reach Floss: Floss everyday ladies and gents!
  4. Schick Quattro Razor: I am a hairy lady.
  5. Eyeglasses Cleaner/Cloth: Makeup always gets all over my glasses.
  6. LUSH Sweetie Pie Body Jelly in Sweetie Pie: I haven’t used this in a long time, and I think smelling like cherries in Vegas is acceptable.
  7. Vera Wang Princess Perfume Roller Ball: I never bring full size perfume with me when I travel. I am ready for a new scent, but I still like this one.
  8. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: I use this every night after I wash my face.
  9. Ahava Body and Hand Lotion: They are small, and perfect for travel!
  10. Eyedrops: I have really dry eyes and they get irritated.
  11. Paul Mitchell Shampoo and Conditioner: I know that the hotel will provide soap/shampoo/lotion/conditioner, but I always feel the need to bring my own just in case I don’t like that they provide. This shampoo/conditioner was from another hotel visit. The shampoo isn’t SLS free, but my hair isn’t dyed right now, so I don’t care as much.
  12. Vidal Sassoon Hairspray: I got this as a free sample at Target of all places, but I really like it, and it is perfect size for travel. I curl my hair with my flat iron, and I plan on doing it all weekend.
  13. Olive Oil Heat Protectant Spray (Not photographed): I just remembered that I will need this since I am actually doing something to my hair for once.
  14. Coppertone Oil Free Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 (Not photographed): This is already waiting for me in the car, and it is much needed since we’ll be outside a lot all weekend.
  15. Dove Deodorant (Not Photographed): Oh this would be very bad if I forgot this.. I don’t want to smell like BO in the summer sun! (:

Leisurely Read:

Vegas-7

The car ride is about 4 hours long from where I live to Las Vegas, so I need a nice read. My friend Iz leant me this book, and I am excited to dive into it tomorrow!

Bags:

Vegas-6

  1. Toiletry Bag: This came with my suitcase. Todd and I will be sharing the suitcase for the weekend, and I can fit all of out toiletries in this bag… even the extras I don’t need.
  2. Clinique Makeup Bag: I have had this bag for 4 years. It gets the job done, and I can fit everything with room to spare.
  3. Ecotools Brush Bag: I could fir my brushes in with my makeup, but I like keeping them a little more safe than that.

Ta Da!

Vegas-8

Everything fits nicely with room to spare! I may overpack, but I would rather not use something then be sad that I don’t have it when I wish that I did!

Do you tend to overpack?

xoxo

Clinique Cheek Pop: Peach Pop Review

_IGP9827 _IGP9828

Finals have came to an end, and I cannot express how happy I am that it is OVER! I haven’t posted in a while, and I would like to apologize. I had to give 100% of my focus on school, and I will definitely mention that it payed off! I have one more class until I receive my AA, and I am planning on transferring for further education! I haven’t decided my major yet, but I am going to be thinking about that A LOT this summer!

I made a friend in my history class this semester, and he surprised me with this blush a few weeks ago!! I helped him pick out a Mother’s Day gift and sent him my notes on a few occasions, so this was his way of saying thank you!! It has been hard making friends since I moved across state, but I found a few great ones this semester!

I was expecting this blush to be a tad larger than it actually is, but I know it will last. The packing is solid, and the pigmentation is decent. The best part is the daisy!! I LOVE DAISIES! If you haven’t figured that out by now ;). I would say that the finish is more natural, and the color can definitely be built up! It leans more towards the pink side compared to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy. I love both products, and I definitely want more colors from each line.

L1050499

You can see above that this is a sheer blush. You can definitely pack it on more heavily than this though. If you are interested in a natural flush, then this product is definitely for you! I think that this is great for a no makeup-makeup look for spring/summer.

This product comes in three other shades, and runs for $21/0.12 oz at Sephora. That is $175 per oz, and Tarte’s blush is $130/oz. I am very happy to have a cheek pop because of the novelty of having a literal blushing daisy! After doing the math,  I would rather have the Tarte blush. Tipsy is more pigmented, and the cheek pop doesn’t come with a mirror. I do want more of these because of how pretty they are, but I would buy the rest of the colors that I want from Tarte beforehand.

Pros:

  • It makes you happy looking at it! (:
  • Build-able
  • Natural finish
  • Long lasting (It lasted all day on me with no primer!)
  • Luminous coral sheen

Cons:

  • Sheer (if you like vibrant colors)
  • More expensive per oz compared to Tarte’s 12-hour blush
  • No mirror

Blushing Daisy Score: 9/10

I do really like this blush, and I really appreciate the kind gesture of my friend surprising me with it! Thank you Chris if you are reading this!

This is definitely a blush that I do want in my arsenal, and I have used it a lot since it was given to me! My review might sound negative, but it is not!! I think it’s a nice blush to own.

Do you own any cheek pops? What do you think of them?

Makeup Wish List

I have decided that it would be fun to post wish lists every once and a while! With finals coming up in less than a month, (OH MY, CAN IT JUST BE OVER ALREADY?!?!) it is hard for me to start posting tutorials.

I PROMISE that I will be filming a tutorial as soon as I have the free time.

For now, you might be able to get some inspiration from things that I am swooning over!

Let’s get to it! (-:

Clinique-Cheek-Pop-Blush

Clinique Cheek Pop (all colors)- $21 at Sephora

Oh do I even need to explain why I want these? MY NAME IS THIS BLUSHING DAISY FOR GOODNESS SAKES! I adore all of the colors, and its in the shape of my favorite flower. I have always liked Clinique, but I love them now because of this product. I am so happy that it is permanent.

Too-Faced-Melted-Liquified-Long-Wear-Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick- $21 at Sephora

I could go for all but one of theses (no thanks to the nude). This photo has the four that I love the most! Can you tell that I prefer bright colors? It’s long wear, and I am all over that.

cindylou_productshot_1

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer- $20 (with brush) from Amazon

I don’t own anything from The Balm, but I have heard great things. I also don’t own a highlight. I really like this one. I think I am a little too in love with shimmer, but that’s ok.

glamconcealer_60487_H

Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Ultra Light- $6 at Walmart

Yay for dark circles! I just bought a concealer from Cover Girl, its “meh”. I will use it, but I won’t repurchase. This concealer has good reviews and was recommended to me. I am guessing Ultra Light, but I really need to go look in person to see what shade suits me the best.

41mNWVtRCTL._SY300_

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat- $4.75 on Amazon

I don’t think that nail polish counts as makeup, but I will throw it in anyway! I have heard great things about this top coat, and I don’t like the one that I currently own.

 What have you been eyeing?

Hope you enjoyed reading! It’s time for me to study now.

xoxo
