Review: YVES SAINT LAURENT CRÈME DE BLUSH: Shade 4, Audacious Orange

IMG_0012
YSL CRÈME DE BLUSH is a soft creme-to-powder blush. Shade 4 is a beautiful bright reddish-coral color. The packaging is sleek, with a gold finished lid. YSL is known for having gold packaging, and I never cared for gold in packaging until I ran into this brand. It is just so gorgeous and sleek. What’s not to love?

This is my first YSL product, and it was gifted to me! It smells extraordinary, like roses. It also blends out to the most beautiful natural finish. This blush is easy to blend, and I have been using my fingers for application.

As you can see, it does lean a bit more brown on my skin, but I think that’s what sets it off from the other coral blushes that I own. The finish I get with this blush has to be the most natural compared to any other blush I have used. It is the perfect flush on my cheeks.

I would definitely love to pick up a few more of these blushes someday. They make me feel like a princess!

This blush runs for a staggering $38 on Sephora’s website. You receive 0.19oz. That is $200/oz! No wonder why I feel like royalty with this baby on my cheeks! That’s the price you pay for high end products, but I think it’s worth it!

Pros:

  • Highly pigmented
  • Blends easily
  • Smells wonderful
  • Lasts all day
  • You will feel like a princess/prince with this on! (:
  • Nice packaging

Cons:

  • Price! ($200/oz)

Blushing Daisy Score: 10/10

I can look past the price on this blush. It’s a high end product, and you should expect a steep price tag! I also feel like I can’t complain about the price of products because people in places like Australia are paying ~$30 for a MAC lipstick when it is only ~$16 here in the states. I love this blush, and it is easily my new favorite!

I am becoming hopelessly addicted to high end products (Thanks Bon!), but I decided to hold off on purchasing any more until I finish college. I wanted to get a part time job, but I think it would be more smart to focus on solely on school. I am in a situation where I do not need a job right now. I feel like I would end up putting work before my education; that’s what I was doing before I moved last summer! I also want my spare time to be focused on this blog! It makes me happy helping people with their beauty woes!

Do you own any YSL products? How do you like them?

Clinique Cheek Pop: Peach Pop Review

_IGP9827 _IGP9828

Finals have came to an end, and I cannot express how happy I am that it is OVER! I haven’t posted in a while, and I would like to apologize. I had to give 100% of my focus on school, and I will definitely mention that it payed off! I have one more class until I receive my AA, and I am planning on transferring for further education! I haven’t decided my major yet, but I am going to be thinking about that A LOT this summer!

I made a friend in my history class this semester, and he surprised me with this blush a few weeks ago!! I helped him pick out a Mother’s Day gift and sent him my notes on a few occasions, so this was his way of saying thank you!! It has been hard making friends since I moved across state, but I found a few great ones this semester!

I was expecting this blush to be a tad larger than it actually is, but I know it will last. The packing is solid, and the pigmentation is decent. The best part is the daisy!! I LOVE DAISIES! If you haven’t figured that out by now ;). I would say that the finish is more natural, and the color can definitely be built up! It leans more towards the pink side compared to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy. I love both products, and I definitely want more colors from each line.

You can see above that this is a sheer blush. You can definitely pack it on more heavily than this though. If you are interested in a natural flush, then this product is definitely for you! I think that this is great for a no makeup-makeup look for spring/summer.

This product comes in three other shades, and runs for $21/0.12 oz at Sephora. That is $175 per oz, and Tarte’s blush is $130/oz. I am very happy to have a cheek pop because of the novelty of having a literal blushing daisy! After doing the math,  I would rather have the Tarte blush. Tipsy is more pigmented, and the cheek pop doesn’t come with a mirror. I do want more of these because of how pretty they are, but I would buy the rest of the colors that I want from Tarte beforehand.

Pros:

  • It makes you happy looking at it! (:
  • Build-able
  • Natural finish
  • Long lasting (It lasted all day on me with no primer!)
  • Luminous coral sheen

Cons:

  • Sheer (if you like vibrant colors)
  • More expensive per oz compared to Tarte’s 12-hour blush
  • No mirror

Blushing Daisy Score: 9/10

I do really like this blush, and I really appreciate the kind gesture of my friend surprising me with it! Thank you Chris if you are reading this!

This is definitely a blush that I do want in my arsenal, and I have used it a lot since it was given to me! My review might sound negative, but it is not!! I think it’s a nice blush to own.

Do you own any cheek pops? What do you think of them?

Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush in Tipsy

_IGP9624

Hello!

Spring is here in full blast, at least in Orange County. Do you know what that means? Spring colors!! CORAL!! I am addicted to coral right now, and I am not ashamed to be on that bandwagon. I think it is my new favorite color, well, it is a branch from pink! Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush in Tipsy is perfect for any coral lover out there.

I was actually going to buy a more red toned blush, but I fell in love with Tipsy at first swatch. I think Tipsy is what cemented my love for corals actually. I remember getting my makeup done at ULTA in 9th grade (remember Jen??-I know you’re reading this!). They put a coral lipstick on me, and I was still afraid of putting colors on my lips at the time. I totally forgot about coral since honestly.

I’M HAPPY I WAS REINTRODUCED! This blush retails for $26, and I think it is worth it. This think will last me at LEAST a few years. I haven’t even put a dent in the pretty decorative stamp yet, and that’s with almost daily use.

On the left is a quick swipe, and the right is blended out. Swoon.

I use the ecotools fan brush for application. I love ecotools by the way. The whole brand is reasonably priced and amazing. I still have brushes going strong that are 6-8 years old! I have had NO shedding whatsoever.

The blush blends like a dream and lasts all day on me, even without primer. It is the perfect flush of color, but I do prefer it over bb cream since I do naturally have redness in my face!

Pigmentation: 5/5

Blend-ability: 5/5

Blushing Daisy Score: 10/10
