FOTD: June 6th, 2014

Hello everyone!

I thought I would just do a quick face of the day today. I am excited to review a bunch of products, but I want to use them just a tad bit more so that I can review them properly!

I wanted to look fabulous while I sat in bed and binged watch season two of Orange is the New Black! I won’t give any spoilers, but I feel like I should have waited to read the book until the series was finished… I am too practical for the huge differences between the book and the show! I am just going to have to enjoy the series in all of it’s false-ness. (:

Onto the products!

I did a larger wing with the MUFE liner, then went over it with the Stila pen.

This blush is ridiculous. It's so natural, yet stands out beautifully.

Review: NYX soft matte lip cream in San Paulo

L1050591

L1050592

I had no idea that I would be purchasing a HOLY GRAIL product yesterday. Well, let’s be honest here, I didn’t know that Todd would be purchasing a HG product for me!

I have heard many wonderful things about NYX’s soft matte lip creams. I have no idea why I waited so long to jump onto the bandwagon, but I am happy that I am finally here.

L1050570

San Paulo is the most beautiful rosy pink shade that I have ever owned. This year I have decided to venture away from my tried and true red lipstick (as much as it pains me to do so). Pinks are my worst fear, but San Paulo gets me all giddy inside!! Yes, lipstick gets me excited, I know you probably feel the same way if you are reading my blog on the regular! ūüėČ

I just want to wear a broad range of colors, and this lip cream is perfect for daily wear. I fear that I may stop wearing all of my other lip products because I love this so much.

This lip cream pairs perfectly with the Naked 3 palette by the way.

Pros:

  • Very pigmented
  • Long lasting
  • Minimal touch up after eating
  • Smells like a sugar cookie (drool)
  • Only $6
  • Matte
  • Not drying

Cons:

  • Honestly, none! (:

Blushing Daisy Score: 10/10!

Go to Target and pick one of the babies up! What are you waiting for?

Makeup Wish List

I have decided that it would be fun to post wish lists every once and a while! With finals coming up in less than a month, (OH MY, CAN IT JUST BE OVER ALREADY?!?!) it is hard for me to start posting tutorials.

I PROMISE that I will be filming a tutorial as soon as I have the free time.

For now, you might be able to get some inspiration from things that I am swooning over!

Let’s get to it! (-:

Clinique-Cheek-Pop-Blush

Clinique Cheek Pop (all colors)- $21 at Sephora

Oh do I even need to explain why I want these? MY NAME IS THIS BLUSHING DAISY FOR GOODNESS SAKES! I adore all of the colors, and its in the shape of my favorite flower. I have always liked Clinique, but I love them now because of this product. I am so happy that it is permanent.

Too-Faced-Melted-Liquified-Long-Wear-Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick- $21 at Sephora

I could go for all but one of theses (no thanks to the nude). This photo has the four that I love the most! Can you tell that I prefer bright colors? It’s long wear, and I am all over that.

cindylou_productshot_1

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer- $20 (with brush) from Amazon

I don’t own anything from The Balm, but I have heard great things. I also don’t own a highlight. I really like this one. I think I am a little too in love with shimmer, but that’s ok.

glamconcealer_60487_H

Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Ultra Light- $6 at Walmart

Yay for dark circles! I just bought a concealer from Cover Girl, its “meh”. I will use it, but I won’t repurchase. This concealer has good reviews and was recommended to me. I am guessing Ultra Light, but I really need to go look in person to see what shade suits me the best.

41mNWVtRCTL._SY300_

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat- $4.75 on Amazon

I don’t think that nail polish counts as makeup, but I will throw it in anyway! I have heard great things about this top coat, and I don’t like the one that I currently own.

 What have you been eyeing?

Hope you enjoyed reading! It’s time for me to study now.

Review/FOTD: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick-Beso

L1050258

First off, I want to apologize: I am a hot mess, as well as my bedroom!

Todd and I went to a car show yesterday (He won best compact car by the way). It was hot, and I had to keep applying sunscreen. That is why my face may look a bit weird in the photo. You know what I didn’t need to reapply? My lipstick.

L1050268

Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso is my ALL time favorite lipstick. It is the perfect, bright red, and it lasts forever. My photo above is an after photo, over 8 hours after application!!

It is expensive, retailing at $22, but I think it is worth it. The fact that I don’t have to reapply as often as regular lipstick makes up for it.

I make sure not to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after I apply my lipstick. Liquid lipstick needs time to set! I ate doughnuts and garlic curly fries (unhealthy, I know!), and I drank a lot of water. No budging from my lipstick! The only time I have budging when I eat is if it is something greasy, like pizza.

One of my biggest deciding factors in purchasing this lipstick last year was that it is kiss proof. I always sacrifice wearing lip products because I don’t want to sacrifice giving Todd smooches! It is also a plus that it smells so wonderful.

Some people find this lipstick to be drying, but I don’t really have a problem. It is like any other matte lipstick in that sense! I make sure to exfoliate my lips prior and I wear a heavy layer of balm while I am doing the rest of my makeup. I remover the excess balm before application though. If you wear lipgloss over it, it will transfer.

Blushing Daisy Score:

  • Pigmentation: 5/5
  • Longevity: 5/5
  • Drying: 4/5
  • Price: 4/5

Total Score: 9/10

MUFE/Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift Review

MUFE bday MUFE bday 2

I think it is amazing that Sephora gives you a free gift just for being a Beauty Insider on the month of your birthday! If you haven’t signed up already, do it! It is free. You gain points every time you make purchases as well, which may be redeemed for free items (usually deluxe sample sizes unfortunately!). The products in the birthday gift are from Make Up For Ever.

Mascara¬†“Smokey Extravagant”:

MUFE Mascara

I have been wanting a new mascara, and this gift couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! ¬†The brush has a much wider base as opposed to the tip, but I had no problems using it. My lashes looked a bit fuller and longer and it held my curl well. I was previously using Covergirl’s Clump Crusher and it didn’t look like I had any mascara on when I used it! It also would not let my lashes hold a curl for some odd reason! (I warm up my eyelash curler prior to use FYI!). I like this little tube, but I am not sure if I would want to repurchase. I would want to compare more brands before I made that big of a commitment! I am not sure if I am sold on buying higher end mascara. I hear a lot of people say that there is really no point. This is one item that if really different for every user!

MUFE Mascara Score: 9/10

Lipstick:¬†“Rogue Artist Natural”:

_IGP9649_IGP9661

Left: natural lips; Right: Lipstick

I really like the lipstick! It is about a shade darker than my actual lip color, so it’s really nice for a natural to no makeup look! The smell isn’t bad, and it does not feel thick or heavy. I didn’t need to put balm on before application; it was so moisturizing! With out food it lasted about 5-6 hours. It does need a touch up after eating though, which is common for a regular lipstick. Would I buy lipstick from MUFE? Definitely. I have no complaints! I’m tempted to get a full size of this color eventually! I am not a natural lipstick girl, so that’s saying a lot!

This lipstick had very minimal kiss transfer! Much less than my MAC lipsticks.

MUFE Lipstick Score: 10/10

Tina
