TGIF: A LITTLE PAMPERING WILL DO YOU SOME GOOD!

_IGP9958

TGIF everybody!

I have no idea why I am saying that… I don’t have a job, and I am on summer break from school. We should enjoy everyday, even if it’s a Monday! Let’s always find something to be grateful for, even if we are thinking, “UGH I HATE MONDAYS!!!” Let me start, I am grateful for all of the fabulous people in my life!

Well, it is Friday, and I decided that today I needed some at home spa action! My favorite time to pamper myself is post workout, so I made sure to make myself sweat before I could enjoy the fruits of my labor, so to speak.

For starters, make sure you are drinking lots of water! It is important to stay hydrated, and your body will thank you for it.

First things first, I did a lot of heat styling while I was in Washington, so I needed a nice deep condition session for those lovely locks of mine. I love coconut oil. I took about 3 tablespoons and spread it throughout my hair evenly. I warmed the solidified oil up in my hands beforehand, and then I made sure to focus on the ends of my hair.

I like to let the oil sit in my hair for about an hour (it’s in there as I type!!). Then I go about my normal washing routine. Yes, I condition twice.

The oil from Trader Joe’s is great. I got this jar for about $5 USD. I have had it for almost a year now.

Next, what is a pamper session without a good ‘ol face mask? I chose Mask of Magnaminty from LUSH because it’s the only mask I own right now! I like it though. The cool tingling sensation is perfect for summer.

I spread a thin layer all over my CLEAN* face and let it sit for about 30 min. I rinse with warm water.

*I went for a run and made sure to wash my face before adding the face mask. I was covered in sweat in sunscreen, no bueno for a mask!

Body scrub!! Yay! After conditioning my hair, I like to pop in the shower. A full body scrub down is in order. I am loving this Olive Oil Creme exfoliant from The Body shop.

After you shower, go ahead and slather yourself in the matching body butter! I don’t have that, so the Christmas Gingerbread one will have to do! (It smells like ginger ale, amazing!).

Time to top it all off with a nice mani. I love love love Chanel nail polish!! This color may not be summery, but I like to bend the rules! I mean, I just used a Christmas body butter in July for goodness sakes! 😉

I’m too lazy for a base/top coat. I find that I don’t need one with Chanel polish. I get a good week out of them with no added help usually!

Well, that’s it for my little pamper session!! It feels nice to wind down after a fulfilling vacation (and a nice run!).

How do you like to pamper yourself?

REVIEW: SINFUL COLORS PROFESSIONAL NAIL POLISH (EASY GOING)

IMG_0003

Hey everyone!

Today I am here with a nail polish review! Sinful Colors Professional is probably the cheapest nail polish brand (that I have heard of), ringing in at $2 a pop!

I was wary of the quality because of the price. Let’s just say that we can never judge a book by it’s cover!

Now, I am not saying that this is the best nail polish I have ever used, but for the price, I would definitely pick up a few more colors!

IMG_0010

The shade Easy Going is a very opaque pastel pink that is just a few shades shy of being white. I like the shade, but I usually shy away from white leaning shades.

IMG_0007

On my fingers I did two shades, letting the first shade dry before applying the second. I did not use a base or top coat. I rarely use base/top coats honestly! There was some slight bubbling, which bothered me.

I did one really thick coat on my thumb. I don’t suggest that… it was bubble city! With this polish, you really need to stick to at about two thin coats.

A base coat may prevent the bubbling.

I am sad to say that I don’t have any after photos, but this polish lasted 8 days on me with NO CHIPPING WHATSOEVER! I am absolutely amazed!! I usually don’t pay attention to how long my polish lasts without chipping, so I need to start doing that with my others. I am so impressed with this $2 polish longevity wise. The bubbles are the only thing that’s steering me away.

Pros:

  • Longevity (8 days, no base/top coat)
  • Price ($2 a pop)
  • Color payoff is good with two coats

Cons:

  • BUBBLES!!

Blushing Daisy Score: 8/10

Those darn bubbles bother me so much! I will test this brand again with a base coat definitely. I would still repurchase though. I think they have a pretty nice color selection, and  for $2 you can’t be too disappointed!

I recommend a good base coat!

What is your go-to nail shade?

Makeup Wish List

I have decided that it would be fun to post wish lists every once and a while! With finals coming up in less than a month, (OH MY, CAN IT JUST BE OVER ALREADY?!?!) it is hard for me to start posting tutorials.

I PROMISE that I will be filming a tutorial as soon as I have the free time.

For now, you might be able to get some inspiration from things that I am swooning over!

Let’s get to it! (-:

Clinique-Cheek-Pop-Blush

Clinique Cheek Pop (all colors)- $21 at Sephora

Oh do I even need to explain why I want these? MY NAME IS THIS BLUSHING DAISY FOR GOODNESS SAKES! I adore all of the colors, and its in the shape of my favorite flower. I have always liked Clinique, but I love them now because of this product. I am so happy that it is permanent.

Too-Faced-Melted-Liquified-Long-Wear-Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick- $21 at Sephora

I could go for all but one of theses (no thanks to the nude). This photo has the four that I love the most! Can you tell that I prefer bright colors? It’s long wear, and I am all over that.

cindylou_productshot_1

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer- $20 (with brush) from Amazon

I don’t own anything from The Balm, but I have heard great things. I also don’t own a highlight. I really like this one. I think I am a little too in love with shimmer, but that’s ok.

glamconcealer_60487_H

Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Ultra Light- $6 at Walmart

Yay for dark circles! I just bought a concealer from Cover Girl, its “meh”. I will use it, but I won’t repurchase. This concealer has good reviews and was recommended to me. I am guessing Ultra Light, but I really need to go look in person to see what shade suits me the best.

41mNWVtRCTL._SY300_

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat- $4.75 on Amazon

I don’t think that nail polish counts as makeup, but I will throw it in anyway! I have heard great things about this top coat, and I don’t like the one that I currently own.

 What have you been eyeing?

Hope you enjoyed reading! It’s time for me to study now.
